The Dampit Humidifier
[The Dampit] This humidifier is a personal favorite. It is small, compact, lightweight, and does a very decent job of keeping guitars sounding and looking like they should.
Using a Dampit is quite simple.
- Use it whenever the humidity reaches below 50%.
- Wet it so the inside sponge is very moist.
- Dry off the excess water on the outside. If you do not dry off the excess water on the rubber tube, then the water can mess with the glue in the bracing inside of your guitar.
- Place your Dampit inside the body of your acoustic guitar.
- Now, the soundhole covering is optional. If you live in a drier environment, or if your guitar hasn't been humidified in a while, I suggest using the soundhole cover to retain more moisture inside the guitar body.
- Place your acoustic guitar inside its case and close it.
- Repeat whenever the humidity reaches below 50%, or when the humidifier gets dry.
All humidifiers are very easy to use.
They are a small investment to protect your instrument.
